Robersonville, North Carolina

Robersonville developed as a agricultural/industrial center along the railroad in the late 19th century. Today Robersonville has a very interesting and well preserved turn of the century central business district. It is one of a few, primarily African American towns in the Northeastern section of North Carolina that seems a little lost in time. There is no Walmart or strip mall in Robersonville so the historic downtown is still the center of commercial activity. Many of the town's hundred plus year old houses are still standing and hardly modified. Ahoskie is another similar but slightly larger town in the area.
