Govan Washington
Govan School, Washington
This beautifully constructed former school is almost all that's left of the village of Govan. Reliable information about the school and Govan is difficult to find. The village of Govan was never large. It had perhaps as many as a hundred residents in it's heyday in the early 1900s. This school would have been constructed around that time. Govan declined in the later half of the 20th century and now has just a few occupied houses. There are two active grain silos in Govan but not much else. Nothing remains of Govan's business district. There are a few scattered abandoned houses a little west of the school. Govan is less than a mile south of highway 2, east of Wilbur.
Ghost towns of Washington has a little Govan article here.
