Niland California

Niland is a small, faded town in the Imperial Valley near the Southern shore of the Salton Sea. Niland is the closest town of any size to the anarchic squatters community of Slab City. Niland is also the closest town and shopping center for anyone living in small communities like Bombay Beach, on the Northeastern shore of the Salton Sea. Niland's population in 2010 was 1,006. There are a few interesting abandoned buildings in and around Niland in addition to the two pictured here.
