Fisher Towers, Utah
Fisher Towers, Utah
Fisher Towers is a great place to get away from the crowds in Moab and Arches National Park. The BLM campground at Fisher Towers is small- only 5 sites, but I have never seen anyone, besides myself use it. I've been to Fisher Towers twice during the height of summer season when Arches and Canyonlands were both packed and both times there were only one or two other people parked at the trailhead. No one was using the campground either time. The campground has no water, pit toilets and is self-register ($15 per night). There are trails leading towards and around the towers from the parking area and miles of open desert to explore. Fisher Towers is 25 miles Northeast of Moab and two miles off of 128. The 2 mile access road from 128 to the Fisher Towers parking area is unpaved but it's in okay shape. It's a wonderful place to spend the night looking at the stars.
