Salton Sea Beach is a small town on the shore of the Salton Sea. Salton Sea Beach is the most densely populated town on the shore of the Salton Sea. I'm not sure why this is. The town is essentially a mobile home park with a population of 422 although I think most residents own the lots their homes are on rather than rent. Many of the mobile homes have been modified in interesting ways to make them more suitable to the hot desert climate. Building a second roof over the mobile home seems to be a popular modification. I assume this helps keep the homes cool in the summer. There is an abandoned marina on the Salton Sea shore (pictured above). The much larger and more sparsely populated Salton City is less than a mile South of Salton Sea Beach.
