Lake Dolores Waterpark, California
Lake Dolores Waterpark, California
This abandoned waterpark is just outside of Barstow next the tiny town of Harvard. The waterpark right off the side of I-15. Most of the park as it exist today was built in the late 1990s. It had closed and reopened a few times before permanently closing in 2004. The front side of the park, next to the freeway access road is entirely fenced off and no trespassing signs are posted. The back side of the park is accessible via dirt roads and a walk. It was never a very big water park and aside from some of the graffiti and it's apocalyptic condition- it isn't all that interesting. The idea that some one would decide to build something like this, in the middle of the Mojave desert, miles from any town, is however interesting to me.
